Ingredients

  • 15 oz can chickpeas a.k.a garbanzo beans (265g), drained, liquid reserved
  • ¼ cup tahini (60g)
  • 1 clove garlic (6g)
  • ½ lemon lemon juice (30ml), 2 tablespoons
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1 ½ tablespoon pure maple syrup (22ml)
  • ¼ cup aquafaba (60ml), the chickpea liquid
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional: to add spice/heat

Instructions

  • Drain the chickpeas, reserving the liquid.
  • Add the chickpeas and all other ingredients to a food processor or blender and blend until completely smooth, about 2 minutes. If your hummus feels thick, add extra aquafaba one tablespoon at a time.
  • Plate and garnish.
